ICC Power Boat Assessments
- Certificate of Competence, required in most European countries
- Direct practical assessment of a skipper’s theory knowledge and handling of a motor boat
- The assessment is NOT a teaching course, it recognises existing competence
- Includes a short written test on all aspects of the Essential Navigation course, a chartwork exercise and practical session onboard a motor vessel
- Candidates must provide a suitable motor vessel for the practical assessment
- The size of the vessel determines the category of recognition listed on the ICC. Either power up to 10 metres or power up to 24 metres
- Several students can be assessed on the boat together (forming a group of up to 4 people on one suitable vessel is acceptable)
